Marcelino Quiñonez

Marcelino earned his B.A. and MFA in Theatre from Arizona State University. As a professional actor, he has performed in lead roles with Phoenix Actors Theatre, Tempe’s Childsplay, Arizona Jewish Theatre Company, Teatro Bravo!, New Carpa Theatre and ASU Public Events. Marcelino taught high school English and Drama at Espiritu NFL YET from 2007-11; 78% of his sophomore classes passed the Arizona AIMS Reading and Writing Exam in 2011. Marcelino has also served as an adjunct professor of theatre at Arizona State University and South Mountain Community College. His play “El Che” was published as part of an anthology titled “Latina/o Heritage on Stage: Dramatizing Heroes and Legends.” He has received multiple awards and recognitions for his work in the community including appearing on the cover of TIME Magazine in an issue dedicated to the importance of the Latino vote. Marcelino was elected to serve on the Roosevelt School District Governing Board in 2012.
